Dumbest thing I heard:
One time during AB someone said in all chat to press alt + F4 for an instant win. Then about 3 people left at once...thank God they were on the other team. lol

On release:
Prophecies - $60
Factions - $60
NightFall - $60
Eye of the North - $50? $45?
Congratulations. Add up however many of those you own. You just wasted money on pixels.

So what, my math isn't that great. Math is overrated anyway. I was merely stating a point. It's not worth it to spend real life money on an in-game mini pet when the person clearly doesn't want to sell it, and you'd get perma banned anyway. No need to be a smart ass.

He was right. As a monk, the 3-5 seconds you spend ressing someone, other stuff dies. Carry a res on a midliner (Deathpact signet works nicely, if stuff keeps dying you need to do something different anyway). Monks have better things to put in their slots. Exempting Unyeilding Aura, if you like running that.
Now if you in advance know that your party is going to be utterly terrible, you can consider packing rebirth (or, as previously stated, Unyeilding Aura). But if you have to take that precaution, you're better off H/Hing the mission/quest/whatever anyway.
As for the stupidist thing, I'd have to say people saying that hybrid heal/prots are bad take the cake. I've had people rant at me for having 10 prot and carrying prot spirit and aegis on an otherwise heal-oriented bar. Big win.

the double Kurzick/Luxon weekend before they nerfed HFFF.
me: holy crap, people get your HFFFing in before anet nerfs it!!
other person: haha, anet won't nerf it, its been around for ages.
me, after many runs and r4: woot. i'll never have to do this again. got my 5 seconds of SY!
other person: haha, you wasted your time doing it all in one weekend. it'll still be here...
that following week anet nerfs HFFF
that same other person: omg, why doesn't it work any more.
me: told you so...

That is actually incorrect... "Scrub" is actually a pretty old insult that dates to 14th century English. But became popular with Hit Hip hop Group TLC...
"A scrub is a guy that thinks he's fly
And is also known as a buster (busta, busta...)
Always talkin' about what he wants
And just sits on his broke ass"
"I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his best friend's ride
Trying to holler at me
I don't want no scrub
A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me
Hanging out the passenger side
Of his best friend's ride
Trying to holler at me"
lol.. Now I can be entered in to useless information while on guru Thread.

You're thinking about this incorrectly. Owning Guild Wars (or any game, really) is meaningless in and of itself; what you're actually buying is enjoyment. If spending $150 on a minipet makes that guy happy (that is, as happy as spending $150 on something else), he'll have gotten his money's worth.
All purchases are part of an optimization problem: you want the maximum happiness/utility per dollar (euro, yen, etc.). What you actually buy to get there doesn't matter.

I don't know whats weirder. Some creepy no-life who can't sleep because he needs to stalk someone for a mini or an economics professor defending the no-life's logic.
The dumbest things I hear in GW are all those people who PM me to look at my unidentified golds and then complain about the crap skins and requisites and the fact that they are unid. They are for Wisdom title seekers, geniuses! If they were any good I would keep them.

This isn't mine but something a friend told me:
My friend in all chat: Man these Destroyers are tough on HM
Random dude: Just bring SF and nuke them down.
My friend: SF as in Shadow Form?
Random dude: No, Shadow Form sucks, Searing Flames.
Double up on stupid XD
